Dec.15 Meeting is cancelled due to bad weather

Given the snow day, tonight’s meeting is cancelled. There are only two remaining informational meetings for parents who are interested in enrolling their kindergarten child/ren in DLI program for the 2016-2017 school year. Informational Meetings 2015-2016

If you want your child in the DLI program, the District said that you will have to attend an informational meeting and fill out a form to show your interest for Spanish and enrollment for Chinese.

These are the future DLI Informational Meetings 2015-2016 for interested parents, all of them will take place at Central Services (970 N. Glenn Rd.):

– 12/1 – 12:00 p.m. (lunch provided, please RSVP to Beth Millay 253-3195)

– 12/1 – 6:00 p.m.

– 12/8 – 12:00 p.m. (lunch provided, please RSVP to Beth Millay 253-3195)

– 12/8 – 6:00 p.m.

– 12/15 – 6:00 p.m.

– 1/5/16 – 6:00 p.m.

– 1/12/16 6:00 p.m.

Parents MUST attend a meeting in order for their child to be considered for the program. If you are unable to attend one of the scheduled meetings and are interested in enrolling your 2016-17 Kindergarten student in the DLI program, please contact Mr. Wilson or Mrs. DeWald and set up an appointment.

You only need to attend one of the meetings.

Park (Spanish) and Paradise Valley (Mandarin) will also have parent tables for information at each of their Open Houses on Jan. 13th. This DOES NOT replace the requirement of going to an informational meeting.

New DLI program will take place in Casper

Another successful DLI story in Wyoming!

The Board of Trustees unanimously approved last night a second Dual Language Immersion program in Casper.

It will be at Park Elementary and the language is Spanish. 40 children will have the opportunity to learn half of the day in Spanish, classes like Math and Science; and the other half learning in English.  Since Park offers combo classes, one Kindergarten and one first grade will start the program Fall 2014.

Board Meeting tomorrow!

Tomorrow (Jan.27th) will take place a decisive Board meeting for Spanish DLI. The Board will make a decision about the Budget.

Is at 7:30 p.m at the Elementary School UNIVERSITY PARK (Please notice this is another elementary school different than Park) the address is 600 N. Huber. We are hoping to see everybody there!!!!!!!!!!!

News about Spanish DLI

Park Elementary got one step closer to being approved to be Casper’s first (and Wyoming’s second) Spanish Dual Language Immersion elementary school at last night’s NCSD Board of Trustee meeting. Second (and final) vote will happen in two weeks at the January 27th Board meeting. Way to go, Park!!!!

Trustee’s board meeting- January 13th, 2014

The Board will have the second and final hearing for the Dual Immersion Program (DLI) for any school that want to implement the program in Natrona County. If it is approved, then they will start considering Park’s proposal.

We will love to see all the interested parties there. We need your support!

Delayed DLI vote – No worries

The Trustees delayed the DLI vote until the next meeting on Nov. 25th.  The Casper Star Tribune article describes the meeting.  The Steering Committee is still confident that it will pass:)
